@swedisagnostic I agree..People are not thinking outside of the box. Our consumption has no effect on the levels of drinking water since it's an endless (and very fast) cycle of evaporization and percipitation, it's more about how we are destroying this planet. By polluting it with all sorts of toxins and shit we are fucking up the eco system and shortening the supply of drinkable water. The problem is mostly man made, but people are not looking at the whole picture here...

If that is just one person, imagine how much water an entire household or family of 4 could save just by changing their water usage. Another great way to conserve water: Use a water tank to store water for cleaning, gardening, drinking, etc- or look into rainwater harvesting.... tank-depot. com and raintankdepot. com are good places to start :) (not to be a self-promoter... but we really do have great products!) My point was, If I take a 20 min shower or a 10 min shower wont make much of a difference in Sweden and wont really effect the rest of the world. Areas that will have serious problems with freshwater in the coming years is not really from over use but because of pollution, over population and drought. And I cant really change that except sending people condoms. I try to only eat meat from Scandinavia, mostly for the rain forest and diseases.

den dagen det är för dyrt alt den dagen vi har gjort slut på resurserna. kan ju vara en idé att ha lite framförhållning. jag håller med dig om att människor är idioter och inte gör vad som är bäst för miljön eller sin omgivning, men det betyder inte att jag måste följa samma mönster. även om länder förgiftar sina vatten så behöver jag inte bidra till konsumtionen.

Den dagen ett bränsle blir för dyrt att använda kommer vi att använda nånting annat. När vi pratar om fossila bränslen så blir det förmodligen kol. Påstår inte att det är ett bra system, men det går knappast att ändra. Vi kan inte rädda världen för att det finns för många som gillar status quo, inkluderat oss i Sverige. Plus att människan är i allmänhet är ett jävligt korkat djur, så jag har inga större förhoppningar.

lika självreglerande som olja eller andra naturresurser skulle jag gissa på. så länge pengar är inblandade så kommer befolkningen i länder där dom redan har stor vattenbrist knappast prioriteras. jag säger inte emot dig i att överpopulation och förgiftning av vatten är ett stort problem, bara att det knappast underlättar att vi i väst förlitar oss på produktion av varor som förbrukar stor mängd vatten på platser där vattnet behövs.

Det problemet är oftast självreglerande, finns det dåligt med vatten så blir det förmodligen fördyrt att ha djurhållning. När folk faktiskt börjar dö av vattenbrist kommer inte problemet handla om djurhållning utan om erosion, överpopulation, förgiftning och att det inte finns reningsanläggningar. Där det finns vatten i överflöd finns det ju ingen anledning att inte använda vattnet så länge vi inte förgiftar det.

till att börja med så kan jag ju säga att dom flesta i indien knappast är veganer eller vegetarianer. vattenåtgången vid köttproduktion handlar till största delen inte om vad djuret dricker utan mängden vatten det går åt att producera foder för att få ett kg kött. och foderproduktionen är långt ifrån enbart lokal. det kanske inte är grundproblemet men med tanke på situationen så blir det ett problem.

Vi har 100000 tusen sjöar i Sverige, vi kommer knappast ha några problem med färskvatten. Det största problemet är inte överkonsumtion utan förgiftning av färskvatten i de flesta länderna. Det hjälper inte riktigt att de flesta i Indien är veganer när de bränner lik, skiter och dumpar allt de kan hitta i sin heliga flod Ganges, förmodligen världens största kloak.

The amount of water saved does not apply to one hamburger, it more than likely applies to an entire herd for a day.
